Madres Maravilla: empowerment and opportunity for a better future
The Madres Maravilla programme was created to empower single mothers in the community, especially those working in tourism who lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this initiative we aim to give them the tools and opportunities to generate an income, strengthen their economic independence and improve their families’ quality of life.
Madres Maravilla currently supports single mothers from the Hogar del Niño directly and, through them, their children, who live in conditions of extreme vulnerability. Every week the participants meet in person or online, with access to activities, materials and resources designed to foster their personal and professional growth. Beyond individual support, the programme promotes a model of co-responsibility in which each mother contributes to the well-being of her peers, creating shared value that strengthens the whole community. Throughout the process they are guided by a team of human resources experts who accompany their development.
Our mission is to reaffirm each mother’s role as a cornerstone of her community, giving her the capabilities and motivation to become a productive, self-sufficient member of it. The programme also prepares them to make informed, conscious decisions, deepening their understanding of their rights, skills and interests. At Madres Maravilla we believe in the power of education, sisterhood and resilience to transform lives and build a more stable, more hopeful future.

This programme exists because someone sustains it
The Patronato is funded by donations from individuals and companies, and by the income from its own self-sustaining projects. Every contribution turns into meals, classes and medical care that happen tomorrow morning.
